In this article, I will talk about the difference between RapidSSL and RapidSSL Wildcard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the ways you can secure your website from external attacks is by installing an SSL certificate<\/a>. However, if you are considering purchasing an SSL for your website, a lot of factors come into play, like the price, speed, and efficiency of the SSL. All of these factors are well covered by RapidSSL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there are two types of RapidSSL: Standard SSL Certificate and wildcard SSL Certificate. I will cover everything you need about the difference between RapidSSL and RapidSSL Wildcard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Is The Difference Between RapidSSL And RapidSSL Wildcard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

RapidSSL Certificate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is a standard SSL certificate that is also known as a single-domain SSL certificate, as it covers only one primary domain. The primary domain can be both the WWW and the non-WWW version. As long as it is under one primary domain, then it is secured by the RapidSSL certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the RapidSSL certificate, since it only covers one domain, does not cover any subdomains under the primary domain. So, if you have a subdomain, you will have to install this SSL certificate again on this domain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RapidSSL Wildcard Certificate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The wildcard SSL certificate is different from the standard SSL certificate since it secures both the primary domain and all subdomains that are connected to your website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you install a wildcard SSL certificate on your website, it covers both the primary domain and all the first level subdomains. You don\u2019t have to install an SSL certificate for each of your subdomains if you are using a RapidSSL certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
