In this tutorial, I will show you how to setup SSH access using cPanel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With SSH access, you can easily give your website better security with 2-factor authentication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How To Setup SSH Access Using cPanel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Log into your cPanel<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Scroll down to the Security <\/strong>section and click SSH Access.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. On the next page, go to the Manage SSH Keys <\/strong>section and click the Manage SSH Keys <\/strong>button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. On the next page, click on Generate a New Key<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. The default Key Name <\/strong>is set to id_rsa<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. In the provided Key Password<\/strong> and Reenter Password<\/strong> text boxes, enter a password for the key. You can also click Password Generator<\/strong> and cPanel generates a strong password.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Confirm the Key Type<\/strong> is set to RSA<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Confirm the Key Size<\/strong> is set to 2048<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. Click Generate Key<\/strong>. The cPanel will generate the public and private keys and save them in the \/home\/username\/.ssh<\/em> directory, where the username represents your hosting account username.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    8. Click Go Back<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    9. On the Manage SSH Keys <\/strong>page, you will see the names of the Public Keys<\/strong> and Private Keys<\/strong>. Under Actions<\/strong>, you will see Manage,<\/strong> where you can manage your SSH.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
