You have the option to scan all your files, email files, and files in public web, or FTP directories. One of the tools Virus Scanner uses to find viruses and malware is <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/harmonweb.com\/blog\/how-to-install-clamav-plugin-on-cpanel-whm-server\/\">ClamAV, an open-source antivirus program<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Let&#8217;s get started.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How To Use Virus Scanner In cPanel<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Log into your cPanel.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Go to the <strong>Advanced <\/strong>section and select <strong>Virus Scanner<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"624\" height=\"321\" class=\"wp-image-5890\" src=\"https:\/\/harmonweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/1000086896.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/harmonweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/1000086896.jpg 624w, https:\/\/harmonweb.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/1000086896-300x154.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>In the next page, under <strong>Start a New Scan<\/strong>, you will be given options of directory to scan.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><strong>Scan Entire Home Directory<\/strong>: this option scans all the files in your cPanel account.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><strong>Scan Mail<\/strong>: this option scans files in the <em>mail<\/em> directory in your cPanel account.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><strong>Scan Public FTP Space<\/strong>: this option scans <em>public_ftp<\/em> directory in your cPanel account.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><strong>Scan Public Web Space<\/strong>: this option scans <em>public_html<\/em> directory in your cPanel account.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Click <strong>Scan Now<\/strong>. Then wait for the scanning to complete.
