This Agreement governs all domain name services provided by HarmonWeb, including registration, renewal, transfer, DNS management, and related support services.
This Domain Registration Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into between HarmonWeb Limited (“HarmonWeb,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and the person or entity applying for, renewing, transferring, managing, or using a domain name registration through HarmonWeb (“Registrant,” “you,” or “your”).
This Agreement governs all domain name services provided by HarmonWeb, including domain registration, renewal, transfer, contact updates, nameserver changes, DNS-related management, dispute handling, and any associated support or reseller services. By applying for, renewing, transferring, or using a domain name through HarmonWeb, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by this Agreement, our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and any applicable registry, registrar, or registry-operator rules.
A domain name registration does not grant permanent ownership of a domain name. It grants a limited, revocable right to use the domain name for the registration period, subject to this Agreement, registry policies, registrar requirements, dispute rules, applicable law, and payment of all applicable fees.
HarmonWeb acts either as registrar, reseller, or registration service provider depending on the extension involved. For some TLDs and ccTLDs, services may be fulfilled through third-party accredited registrars, registries, or upstream providers. You agree that your domain name registration may therefore also be subject to the rules, policies, and technical processes of such parties.
You represent and warrant that:
If HarmonWeb reasonably believes that you lack authority, submitted false information, acted fraudulently, or registered a domain in a misleading or abusive manner, we may refuse, suspend, lock, cancel, or place the affected registration under review.
You must provide and maintain accurate and current registration data, including registrant, administrative, billing, and technical contact information where required.
You are responsible for ensuring that the administrative contact email remains functional and monitored, because important notices relating to renewal, transfer, dispute, policy enforcement, suspension, or cancellation may be sent through the contact information associated with the domain.
HarmonWeb may request verification documents or additional information at any time for compliance, fraud screening, ownership confirmation, dispute review, registry requests, transfer validation, or abuse investigation. Failure to provide requested information within the stated time may result in rejection, suspension, lock, cancellation, or non-renewal of the domain.
All domain registrations, renewals, restorations, transfers, privacy-related services, and add-ons are subject to payment in advance. A domain is not considered secured, renewed, or transferred until the relevant payment is successfully received and the registration is successfully processed by the applicable registrar or registry.
You are solely responsible for renewing your domain name before expiration. Renewal reminders may be sent as a courtesy, but failure to receive a reminder does not waive your responsibility to renew on time. If a domain expires, it may enter expiration, suspension, redemption, restore, auction, deletion, or re-registration phases depending on the extension and the applicable registry rules. HarmonWeb does not guarantee that an expired domain can be recovered.
Renewal fees, redemption fees, restore fees, transfer fees, and late fees may apply. Domain fees are non-refundable unless HarmonWeb expressly states otherwise in writing.
Submission of a domain order does not guarantee that the domain will be registered. A domain may be unavailable, reserved, restricted, blocked, under review, premium-priced, subject to registry policy, or rejected by the upstream registrar or registry for any reason.
HarmonWeb may cancel an order and refund only the registrable domain fee actually received where registration cannot be completed, subject to deductions for non-recoverable third-party costs where allowed.
Transfers are subject to the rules of the applicable registry and registrar. You are responsible for providing correct authorization materials, unlocking the domain where applicable, ensuring the domain is transferable, confirming that no dispute or court order prevents transfer, and complying with any applicable waiting periods or anti-fraud checks.
HarmonWeb may refuse or delay a transfer request where:
You are responsible for ensuring that nameserver settings, DNS records, and domain technical configurations are correct. HarmonWeb is not responsible for downtime, email loss, web inaccessibility, propagation delay, DNSSEC issues, or technical failures caused by incorrect nameserver changes, DNS misconfiguration, registry delay, upstream provider issues, or third-party DNS services.
We may apply temporary registrar parking, holding pages, or default nameserver settings where necessary to complete provisioning, prevent abuse, maintain account status, or comply with policy.
You may not register, acquire, renew, transfer, use, or display any domain name through HarmonWeb for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or deceptive purposes. Prohibited uses include, without limitation:
HarmonWeb may suspend, lock, hold, cancel, or refuse to renew any domain associated with abuse complaints, malware, phishing, fraud, legal violations, sanctions exposure, chargeback abuse, or other conduct that threatens HarmonWeb, its partners, the public, or the stability of the DNS.
HarmonWeb reserves the right, at any time and without prior notice where reasonably necessary, to place a domain on client hold, registrar hold, server hold, lock, transfer prohibition, DNS suspension, or other restricted status, or to cancel or deny a registration where:
You acknowledge that domain registrations may become subject to disputes, including trademark complaints, ownership claims, court proceedings, administrative proceedings, registrar investigations, or registry dispute procedures. HarmonWeb may freeze changes, request documentation, maintain current status, or comply with dispute-provider, registry, registrar, or court instructions while a dispute is pending.
You represent that, to the best of your knowledge, your registration and use of the domain name does not infringe the rights of any third party. HarmonWeb does not conduct trademark clearance for you and is not responsible for evaluating the legality of a domain before or after registration.
Registration data may be collected, processed, published, redacted, or disclosed in accordance with the applicable registry and registrar rules, privacy laws, and service configuration.
You acknowledge that domain registration may require disclosure of certain personal or organizational data to registries, registrars, dispute providers, escrow operators, compliance systems, or lawful authorities. Where privacy or redaction services are available, they may be subject to additional conditions, fees, or legal exceptions.
NiRA operates the .ng namespace using a registry-registrar-registrant model and registrations, renewals, and transfers are handled through accredited registrars.
Certain .ng second-level domains may be open to the public, while others are restricted or closed and subject to eligibility requirements.
The .name.ng namespace is intended primarily for natural persons and personal registrations, except where registry policy provides otherwise.
The .edu.ng namespace is intended for approved and accredited tertiary academic institutions and related eligible bodies under the applicable policy.
The .sch.ng namespace is intended for approved schools and may be subject to registration limits or eligibility restrictions.
The .gov.ng namespace is restricted to eligible government institutions, departments, agencies, ministries, and related public bodies, subject to required approvals.
The .mil.ng namespace is restricted for military use.
All .ng registrations through HarmonWeb are additionally subject to applicable NiRA policies, registrant agreements, registration requirements, WHOIS/privacy practices, dispute procedures, and future amendments adopted by NiRA.
Unless expressly stated otherwise by HarmonWeb in writing, domain registration, renewal, transfer, restoration, premium name acquisition, and related registry or registrar fees are non-refundable once submitted for processing. This includes unsuccessful transactions where non-recoverable registry or upstream costs have already been incurred.
If a free domain was included with another service, the standard registration cost of that domain may be charged, deducted, or become immediately payable if the qualifying service is canceled, refunded, reversed, or terminated under the applicable offer terms.
If you register a domain on behalf of another person, business, or client, you remain responsible for ensuring that:
HarmonWeb may require direct confirmation from the underlying registrant at any time. Where ownership is disputed, HarmonWeb may treat the registrant data on record and available supporting evidence as controlling until the matter is resolved.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HarmonWeb shall not be liable for any loss of registration, loss of business, traffic loss, reputational harm, missed renewal, failed transfer, suspension, cancellation, denial, incorrect WHOIS display, DNS outage, propagation delay, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damage arising from domain services, whether caused by HarmonWeb, an upstream registrar, a registry, a dispute process, technical failure, or third-party action.
HarmonWeb’s total liability relating to any domain service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the affected domain transaction during the then-current registration term.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HarmonWeb, its officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, upstream providers, registrars, registries, and partners from and against any claims, disputes, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from:
HarmonWeb may update this Agreement at any time to reflect legal, technical, registry, registrar, security, commercial, or policy changes. The updated version becomes effective when published, unless a later effective date is stated. Continued use, renewal, or management of the domain after such update constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement.
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, except where mandatory registry, registrar, or dispute-provider rules require another governing framework for a particular domain extension or proceeding.
Questions relating to domain registration, renewal, transfer, abuse, ownership review, or legal notices should be directed to HarmonWeb through its official support channels.
